CURRENT TV
From August 1, 2005, to August 20, 2013, Current TV was a prominent American television channel. It was founded by Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, and Ronald Burkle, with each holding significant ownership stakes, while Comcast and DirecTV held smaller shares.
Initially, Current TV operated as a platform for user-generated content, with viewers creating 15-minute segments. However, it later transitioned into an independent news network focused on progressive politics.
Michael Strelan, the director of Oxygen Studios, played a pivotal role as the first producer for Current TV in Australia. He curated short-form video content for the platform, with one of his productions ranking in top 20 videos on the channel.
